Description
A restoration I have done of my Great Grandad for my Grandads Christmas present. Had a little trouble with it as the frame is 5x7 and I didnt want to use a mount for that size so had to widen it out a bit.

Out of interest, you may not be able to see at this size (working on this is at a serious zoom!) but the cigarette in his hand is actually not lit and has fake smoke coming out of it. This was taken in the late 1800's and it seems they even had means of photomanipulation then!

Amazing fact in the detail of the cigarette smoke..
I thinks safe to say though that for as long as photographic prints have existed photomanipulation was never far away..
I have a book somewhere abouts on the history of old style film/transparency manipulation..I will have to see if I can dig it out..
