Lamp post by monkeyheadmushroom Lamp post by monkeyheadmushroom
I was hoping this shot would come out in the concept that I wanted it to and I think I got quite close. Basically I wanted the flare to be there to convey bright sunlight and daytime but also wanted the lamp to somewhat look like it was lit to convey night and add a slight confussion to the image.

Then again you could just see it as a picture of a lamp post.

Kind of has a Chronicles of Narnia feel to it.
P.S. The lamp really does look lit.

Im glad you feel that. I did a bench and tree that I tried to make narnia-ish too.

didnt'you try to put the sun in (i.e. behind) the lamp? that might have looked nice as well :)

Nice thought. Might have to try it. Having done that with a tree I know it can be quite intense.

I love this shot.

It may be the infrared effect doing this, but it reminds me of a bright, snowy day.

Although I do see the concept youre going for, it may draw a bit of confusion to what youre accomplishing.

But, its a very pretty photograph, nice job!

The snowy day is a classic feel that most people get from infrared, I must say Im kind of past that feel now as I have more understanding of the theory and science behind the meduim but everyso often a shot will bring it back.
