Infrared shot with a colour layer added for the phone box. I was torn maybe to put this under photomanipulation and Im sure that some may think it should be there but as the description states photomanipulation is for when an image has significant amounts of manipulation and this for me is not hugely changed from the original shot. I guess it will always be a very fuzzy line though.

EDIT: Due to a couple of comments thinking that this is two photographs with the colour layer being a normal shot and the other IR I would just like to clarify that this is only one image. The colour coming from a hue/saturation layer and layer mask, not another photograph. Im hoping that people thinking it was two photographs means I have done a good job though! lol

Truly fantastic shot. The color layer certainly adds greatly to it, but I agree with your decision not to put this under photo-manip.

I don't see infrared shots often, love the glow too.

Well if you dont see infra red often then have a look at my gallery. Its all Im taking at the moment and cant help but give you a bit of shameless self promotion!

That is THE single most ominous phone box I have ever seen! ...(and I've seen a fair few in my time, but this takes the biscuit)

Good idea! If you work just with different color layers it should not be put under the category of manipulation.

I like this pic very much! Surrealism pure!!!

great image, really like it a lot. I disagree with you and everyone else on this not counting as a manipulation. The way I see it is you have combined two different mediums into one image and that must make it a manipulation. Ok they are both photographs, but one is an IR photograph and one is a Colour photograph, which are two seperate mediums, much like Oil paint and water colours are different mediums. I think therefore, having combined them using photo editing software, that it is digital art (a manipulation) not a photograph.

Really nice shot. The red is a really nice contrast to the white leaves. I guess this could be classified as a manip, but seeing as you could do this by just layering two images, I wouldn't categorize it as that. When discussing the whole manipulation topic, you have to remember that digital photography is something different than analog - Therefore it gives you a whole bunch of other possibilities. For me to define a photo as a manip, something that wasn't there before would have to be added - like if you added the entire phone booth to a photo of the tree in the background.
Anyways great shot. :+fav:!

If it were two photographs I would totally agree with you and put this in manipulations. It is actually one photograph used at one exposure so there is no layering in that manner. The colour comes from a hue/saturation layer that has the hue changed to get the image red and then a layer mask is used to bring the colours that I want to leave original (after the normal IR channel swap) through. Using different shades of grey I can make the colours show through as much or as little as I want and this shows in the window panes that can be seen through the right hand foreground window. So yes I guess it does seem as one IR and one colour photo but it is actually from the single IR photo.
